Books about TeX, typography and friends
All seven books are available from the publisher, Addison-Wesley Publishing Company. G Generating Boxes from Formulas. What does it cover? Like any style of language imperative, functional, logical, etc.
This popular book shows you how to begin using LaTeX to create high-quality documents. As for first reading alternative texts, I think there is something to be said about reading the manual written by the guy who created TeX in the first place.

Highlights for me included a selection of exercises that I could mostly accomplish, a perspective on how the interaction with the program is an iterative Going full on five stars, as I know I will read this again.
